NEW LIGHT ART PRIZE

Thrilled to bits to have WON the printmakers award at The New Light Art Prize exhibition last night!
Judged by Norman Ackroyd RA CBE. 'Stone Pen' was selected.
The exhibition started last night at the stunning Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, Newgate, County Durham DL12 8NP.
It then moves to the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate and finally on to the Panter and Hall gallery on Pall Mall in London.
More to come on that later!!...

winning entry 'Stone Pen'

A lovely customer sent me a photograph of my artwork in her living room. I love the chunky white frames. What a beautiful house she has!

I felt I had to turn my paintings into prints, as they were begging me! 'Garden' (green), was finished yesterday. It's a six colour screenprint with french grey Karisma pencil.

From Inverness to Sussex and Belfast to Cardigan, we’re all set to unite the UK with Four Corners of Craft. In partnership with the Crafts Council and Tent London, Etsy will make its mark at the London Design Festival with a selling exhibition of cross-disciplinary contemporary craft on 24-27th September 2015.

With a national reach, our prestigious lead partners include: London Design Festival, Tent London, Crafts Council, Contemporary Applied Arts, The Design Trust, Craft Scotland,Creative Scotland, Craft NI, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Helfa Gelf. I have been preparing for an exhibition at the Biscuit Factory in June, and this will be on show there. This series of prints have taken quite a while to produce, being 11 and 12 colours each. I have enjoyed building up the layers of soft colours and textures.
These worked out nicer than I was expecting, it's difficult to see all the textural detail. Sometimes working with so many colours can lead to a piece of work I'm not entirely happy with, however I worked on these over several weeks and made sure they colours worked for me!
